BIOGRAFIA
Ilmira Bagautdinova was born in 1981 in St. Petersburg into a family of professional ballet dancers. Her parents were soloists of the Kirov (Mariinsky) Theatre.
In 1991 Elmira entered the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. Her talent as a dancer was recognized early and while still a student she successfully performed on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater as a Fairy in ''The Fairy of Dolls'' and as Masha in ''Nutcracker''. She even toured abroad with the theatre before finishing her education at the Vaganova School. For her major role of Fairy in The Fairy of Dolls she was coached by the famous Russian dancer Natalia Dudinskaya. Elmira graduated in the class of Professor I.B. Zubkovskaya.
Upon graduation, Ilmira was accepted into the troupe of the Mariinsky Theatre.
During her work in the theater Ilmira performed in the following ballets:
The Sleeping Beauty (Maurice Petipa, a recreation of the 1890 production)
La Bayadere (M. Petipa, a recreation of the 1900 production)
The Nutcracker (M. Shemiakin, D. Pandurski)
The Rite of Spring (V. Nijinki)
The Wedding (B. Nijinkaya)
Undina (P. Lacotte)
The Mega polis (D. Pandurski)
In 2000-2001 as a guest soloist to the Universal Ballet (Korea) Ilmira toured in the United States, Canada and Europe.
2002 –She studied Master Classes in Korea.
Graduate of the famous Academy of the Russian Ballet, artist of the Mariinsky Theatre, in 2003 Ilmira was invited as a soloist to the Hermitage Theatre.
2004 – She participated in a series of Seminars in Japan
2005 – Acted in a movie “Alka” as a dancer and dramatic actress.
Brilliant and talented ballet dancer Ilmira, while a student, successfully performed on stage of the Mariinsky theater as Fairy in the Fairy of Dolls and as Masha in the Nutcracker, and toured abroad with the theater.
Possessing her own distinct style Ilmira is a very delicate dancer and knows how to be all things to all situations – vigorous and calm, sad and inspired, sincere and flirtatious. She truly loves, grieves and rejoices on stage, she lives the life of her heroine endowing her with a subtle and emotional perception of the surrounding world.
She does not merely embody her character, but perceives it, and is able to convey her roles to the public in a way that make the spectators believe her every movement and gesture.
In Russia she has been described as a goddess of airiness and fragility. The delicate lightness of her movement, the subtle lines, the beauty and grace of her roles and her immaculate technique are the features that make Ilmira Bagautdinova stand out amongst the others. Her attention to detail ensures every movement is perfect. Her choreography, emotions, make-up, costume and grace on stage create an unforgettable image that fascinates the viewer. Her dance is the weightless flutter of a butterfly that rivets the attention of the ballet patron. Whatever her role Ilmira brings a special quality. She has been lauded for Giselle, Odette, Masha, and Aurora. Ilmira is a star on the rise in Russian ballet circles.
