BIOGRAPHY

Martine van Hamel was 1945 in Brussels. She is Dutch and studied in Denmark, Netherlands, Venezuela and Toronto. Joined the National Ballet of Canada in 1963 and the American Ballet Theatre in 1970. Martine van Hamel's technique, musicality and majestic presence was perfect for the classical repertory.

Repertoire includes:
Title role in Swan Lake, La Bayadere and Raymonda, Myrtha in Giselle and Aurora in Sleeping Beauty.

Awards:
Gold Medal, Varna Competition, 1965.
