BIOGRAPHY
Marie Lindqvist was born in Sweden in 1971. She studied with the Swedish Opera Ballet School and the Swedish Ballet School before joining the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1988. She was appointed soloist in 1991 and principal 1993. In 2004 she received the title of Court Dancer. She dances both the classical and the modern reportoire. Marie Lindqvist has guest danced in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Japan, Portugal and USA among others.
Repertoire includes:
Juliet in MacMillian's Romeo and Juliet, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Bianca in Cranko's Taming of the shrew, Hippolyta/Titania in Neumeier's A Midsummer Nights Dream, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, title role in Ashton's Cinderella, Solveig in Neumeier's Peer Gynt, Mary Vetsera in MacMillan's Mayerling and also title roles in ballets by George Balanchine, Ulysses Dove, Mats Ek, Pär Isberg, Per Jonsson, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Twyla Tharp and Birgit Åkesson.
