Lucia Lacarra was born in 1975 near San Sebastian, Spain. She studied with Victor Ullate in Madrid. She joined Roland Petit's National Ballet of Marseille in 1994 as a principal dancer. Three years later she moved to San Francisco Ballet. Since 2002 she is a principal with Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich.
