ELIZABETH LOSCAVIO - Biography.

BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth Loscavio was born in Jacksonville FL, USA, in 1968. She studied at the Contra Costa Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School and San Francisco Ballet School. Main teachers Don Eryck (Contra Costa Ballet). She joined the San Francisco Ballet in 1986. Became soloist in 1988 and principal in 1990. She moved to the Hamburg Ballet in 1997, first as soloist and was then promoted to principal in 1998. Retired in 2004.

In San Francisco she created Nanna in Nanna's Lied (Helgi Tomasson) and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Helgi Tomasson) and in Hamburg Bronislava Nijinsky in Nijinsky (John Neumeier).

Repertoire in San Francisco includes:
Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty (Helgi Tomasson), Odette/Odile in Swan Lake (Helgi Tomasson), Eternal Sleep in Rodin (Leonid Jacobson), Lise in La Fille mal gardée (Sir Frederick Ashton), The Pupil in The Lesson (Flemming Flindt), The Cowgirl in Rodeo (Agnes de Mille) and Butterfly in A Midsummer Night's Dream (George Balanchine).

Repertoire in Hamburg includes:
Sylvia in Sylvia, Marie in The Nutcracker, Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Princess Florine in The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella in A Cinderella Story, Prudence in The Lady of the Camellias, Princess Claire and Princess Natalia in Illusions - like "Swan Lake", Giselle in Giselle and Solveig in Peer Gynt (all by John Neumeier).
