CYNTHIA GREGORY - American Ballet Theatre






BIOGRAFIA

Cynthia Gregory was born in Los Angeles in 1946. She studied with Carmelia Maracci, Michel Panaieff and Robert Rossellat. Joined San Francisco Ballet in 1961 and American Ballet Theatre in 1965. She was quickly promoted to principal dancer. She made her debut as Odette-Odile in 1967, a role that was always associated with her. Danced all the leading ballerina roles in the ABT reportoire, as well as Balanchine and Tudor works. She was a great technician with statuesque physique and strong dramatic presence. Gave her farewell performance in 1991 dancing Odette-Odile with Fernando Bujones.
