BIOGRAFIA

Kirsten Simone was born in Copenhagen in 1934. She studied at the Royal Danish Ballet School with Vera Volkova. She joined the Royal Danish Ballet in 1952. Promoted to soloist in 1956 and to first soloist in 1966. A dancer with a clean and classical technique, that later developed into a fine mime and character dancer. She danced all the classical ballerina roles by Petipa and Bournonville as well as the 20th century repertoire from Ashton, Balanchine, MacMillan and Petit.

She created roles in Flindt's The Three Musketeers (1966), von Rosen's Don Juan (1967) and Harald Lander's Fête polonaise (1970). She guested with several companies, including American Ballet Theatre and London Festival Ballet.
