BIOGRAFIA

Heather Jurgensen was born in Carlisle PA, USA. She studied in Pennsylvania and at the School of American Ballet. Main teachers Marcia Dale Weary, Roberts Denvers, Suki Schorer, Stanley Williams, Alexandra Danilova, A. Tumkowsky and Peter Martins. She danced with the New York City Ballet 1986-89. Moved to the Hamburg Ballet in 1989, where she was promoted to soloist in 1991 and to principal in 1994.

In New York she created The Pas de deux in Four Gnossiennes (Peter Martins), and in Hamburg A Foreign Princess in A Cinderella Story, Calypso in Odyssey, Olivia in VIVALDI or What You Will, Pas de deux Sheherazade I (Easter Concert 1997, Munich), The Ballerina Tamara Karsavina in Nijinsky (all by John Neumeier) and Emerald Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty (Mats Ek).

Repertoire includes:
Nikiya in La Bayadere (Makarova's staging), and Hippolyta/Titania, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Marguerite Gautier and Manon in The Lady of the Camellias, Sylvia in Sylvia, The Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Ophelia in Hamlet, Beatrice in Ondine, Louise and La Fille du Pharao in The Nutcracker Cinderella and Cinderella's Mother in A Cinderella Story, Princess Natalia and Odette in Illusions - like "Swan Lake", Romola Nijinsky in Nijinsky, Giselle and Myrtha in Giselle and Ginevra in The Saga of King Arthur (all by John Neumeier).
