BIOGRAFIA
Ambra Vallo (Italy) is a classical ballet dancer. Born in Naples, Italy, she is currently a Principal Dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
She trained at the Royal Ballet School of Flanders. At seventeen she was invited as a guest artist by Vladimir Vasiliev to inaugurate the ballet season of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Already Soloist of the "Royal Opera of Wallonie" and after of the "Royal Ballet of Flanders", she has been Senior soloist of the English National Ballet from 1993. At the Royal Festival Hall in 1995 Vallo is Juliet and receives the personal congratulations of Lady Diana [1]. From the 2001 she is the most famous "Principal" of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. "Debrett's people of today" included her between the one thousand most famous personages of United Kingdom. Called "diamond" by Debra Crain (The Times) and "First Class Ballerina" by Emma Manning (The Stage).
She gained critical acclaim worldwide participating in several international competitions: her achievements include the first prize at the "Luxemburg International Grand Prix"; the Silver medal, at Houlgate, France. In Italy, she won prizes at "Danza e danza" (Best dancer, 2004), Positano (Prize of the critic, 1991 and 2002), "Rieti (Gold Medal). In 2009, at the Teatro di San Carlo of Naples, receives the prize "Neapolitan excellence in the world" by the President Silvio Berlusconi [2].
She has created roles for ballets, including: Bintley's Titania (The Shakespeare Suite), 'Annunciation' (The Protecting Veil), Wild Girl (Beauty and the Beast), Kim Brandstrup's Pimpinella (Pulcinella), Lila York's Sanctum, Stanton Welch's Powder and Luciano Cannito's Te voglio bene assaje.
